RINIA Advisory Network

An initiative that brings together healthcare students and early-career clinicians from Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania to help shape the direction of RINIA’s educational work.

Why was the network created?

The network was created to ensure that RINIA remains closely connected to the communities it aims to support. Through this programme, advisors share their perspectives, experiences, and insights from their local training environments, helping guide the development of educational initiatives.

We believe that meaningful educational initiatives should be developed together with the communities they serve. The RINIA Advisory Network ensures that students and clinicians from across the region play a central role in shaping our work.

Rather than designing programmes in isolation, RINIA works collaboratively with the network to better understand the challenges faced by students and junior doctors and to identify opportunities where educational initiatives can make the greatest impact.

Purpose of the Network

The RINIA Advisory Network exists to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between healthcare students, early-career clinicians, and members of the diaspora who are involved in RINIA’s work.

The network helps ensure that RINIA’s initiatives reflect the priorities and needs of those working and training within the region. By listening to the experiences of advisors, the organisation can better design programmes that are useful, accessible, and responsive to local contexts.

Through the network, RINIA aims to:

  • Better understand the educational needs of students and doctors in the region

  • Receive feedback and guidance on proposed programmes and initiatives

  • Identify areas where additional educational support may be valuable

  • Foster collaboration between healthcare communities in the Balkans and the diaspora

  • Build a network of individuals interested in widening access to health education

The programme is grounded in the belief that sustainable and meaningful initiatives are built through dialogue, partnership, and shared insight.

Looking Ahead

The RINIA Advisory Network represents an important step in ensuring that the organisation’s work remains collaborative, responsive, and grounded in the realities of healthcare education in the region.

By creating space for dialogue and shared insight, the network helps build a stronger connection between RINIA and the communities it serves. Over time, the programme may also support new opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and educational initiatives that bring together healthcare professionals across borders.

At its core, the network reflects a simple principle: the most meaningful initiatives are built together.
